out of the blue my backup sensors start acting up. they have been fine for the over 5 years ive had my srx. now when i take the car out of park the sensors blink and beep 4 times. they still work but the beeping is driving me crazy and i always feel like something else is broken or left on each time. anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it. thanks

 

dirt/grime build up can effect sensors. Any damage to bumper?

 

nope. bumper is clean. i cleaned around all the sensors and made sure that they were clean.. it only happens when i take it out of park.. if i put it in reverse from drive its fine. i just got a recall notice for it so its going in the shop soon anyway

 

You maybe able to see connectors and wiring harness to sensors on rear bumper laying rear of car. If you can ;see if connectors are fully seated and there is not a build up mud,dirt, or other roadway material on them.

 

one dealer didnt know anything, the sensors wont fine but when i take it out of park it chimes 4 times and the backup sensor lights go off, i took it to another dealer and they agreed with me that it is a problem but i have to leave it there for them to get to the solution.

 

finally figured it out. the storage bin under the 3rd row seat was open... the absolute last thing i would of checked
