What do you think it's worth?
I have a 1998 Seville STS with 111k miles. The color is blue with gray interior. It has no sunroof or heated seats but has the 6 disc changer with the mini disc stereo.
The car has been great, I have had none of the typical problems but my commute is about to go from 16 miles one way to 48 miles one way. I have been debating getting something that gets more mpg, although I love the STS.
All opinions count.

before you decide, do the math.
how many miles will you have to drive on a new fuel efficient car to cover the cost vs hanging on the car you got now.
then you will know.
other than that .. value, in whole or parted?

if all is well, you should get 23/24 mpg - hgh.....not bad .... do you really want to giver up for an extra few mpg?...... as stomper said you'd have too drive quite a bit to recoup cost for different vehicle. plus, you know yours. also fyi...the used market is high right now for those that give good fuel mileage. that is unless your lookin at new.
they are almost giving them away.. and BUY AMERICAN please...... if you do, but imo id keep the sts

If you were to blue book it it would be around $4,500-$5,500 also if you want a car that gets better gas milage think about how much more you will gain with the new car. if you are looking at getting a car that get 30-35mpg and you are going to have a car payment on top of it all then you will not be helping your self. in the long run that car payment would be like having a car that gets 12mpg cuz your not really saving money. If this is not the case and the car you are getting is going to be paid in full and is about the same price as what your cady is worth then go for it. Imo i think my cady gets pretty darn good gas milage since my other car is a 2000 pontiac grand am with a v6 it gets about 23mpg on the hwy and my cady gets the same so i would never down grade at the moment unless it was for gas prices being $6/gal lol. good luck lett us know what the end result will be.
Do the math. MPG is but one factor. What you need to figure is ALL costs, then divide the miles driven by the costs to give you Cost-Per-Mile.
(all figures are guesstimates. Put your own numbers in)
Monthly payment: Cad: $0 New Car: $300-$500
Fuel: Cad $200 per month New Car: $110 per month
Insurance: Cad: $40 or less per month New Car: $60 or more per month
Maintenance: Cad: Who knows? (You might) New Car: Cost for scheduled maintenance
Monthly totals: Cad=$240 plus or minus New Car $470 plus or minus
Miles per month: Cad; 1200 (approx): divide $240/1200=$0.20 per mile
New Car; 1200 (approx): divide $470/1200=$0.39 per mile
The new car is almost double the cost per mile... On the other hand, one major problem (blown trans or engine, even 4 new shocks) in the Cad and your maintenance costs, thus your overall costs, go WAY up, unless you just kick it to the curb and THEN buy the new car. But you lose your resale value on the Cad....
On some cars you can avoid a lot of maintenance expense by doing the work yourself (like if you had a '69 Nova....), but with modern cars that's a lot harder to do! Your decision.
