Would like to know how difficult this is to replace. Does it involve taking the waterpump off? What is the chance of the waterpump freezing & that cause the belt to brake, although, I didn't hear it squeal at anytime.
Its a 2003 STS Seville with the 4.6 Northstar.

 

Not terrible to replace. Water pump locked up would cause belt to break. Drive pulley may appear to melted if pump was locking up. Many times belt wear is overlooked since it's hard to see

 

Yeah, decided to change out the waterpump as well. from looking at how the belt broke I would assume the pump froze.
