Default Overheating and Wet Carpet

Hi me again,

Yesterday when driving, my car shot up to 245 F* and then it sent me a message saying Coolant TEMP HOT.
So I stop at the nearest gas station and buy ORIGINAL Antifreeze formula for my 95 Caddy Seville SLS.

My car kept getting hotter until it reached 255 and then i stopped the car and just let it cool down, I filled the tank with water and then i started to head home, my car was at 245 F* in IDLE and then when driving in the freeway it started to decrease all the way down to 223 F*. When my dad and I got home, we noticed the carpet was wet and steam was coming out of my DEFOG panels in my front windshield.

can you guys help me out with this? What can be the problem?

we feed on FEEDBACK, when someone finds the solution,
it is appreciated if the solution IS POSTED. did i miss it?
if i did, my apologies.

THAT FEEDBACK is what helps the next guy.

we would like to know what you did to fix the other problems,
post the solutions in the proper threads,
help out your fellow Cadillac owners ...

i'm sure someone will come along and provide help on the current topic.
