Default A/C-heat vents not responding after electrical meltdown

Hi, 2001 Seville SLS. Long story. My driver seat adjustment was balky. Move sometimes, not others, no full movement. When trying to adjust it, had an electronic meltdown. Radio and climate system failed, no fuel gauge or info system. I did not associate the seat with the meltdown at the time. Disconnected the battery overnight. Reconnected and all okay until I adjusted the seat. Electronics failed again so I figured out the connection. Unplugged the seat and removed the relay. Rebooted and all is okay except A/C-heat vents are not responding to the mode selector. My theory is that it is jammed by conflicting signals from the computer during the meltdown. Access is a bitch. Any theories would be helpful. Thanks

Follow up. I discovered that when I first start the car, the upper A/C vents are working for abour five seconds, then they switch to floor and defrost? So, my initial theory that the linkage was possibly jamed goes out the window which are working fine!
