97 STS abs, traction control, stability lights on, help?
I recently purchased a 97 Seville STS and the abs, traction control and stability reduced light were on when I got it. The wheel sensor was unplugged on the left front, so I plugged it in, cleared the codes and went for a drive. After a mile or so the car started to drag down and pull and the stability engaged message came on. After a few seconds of that the pulling stopped and the stability reduced message stayed on again. I checked codes and the only one I see is a TCS C1282 History. I am speculating the left front wheel sensor but would like to besure before I change it . Any thoughts?
Thanks, Matt

C1282 relates to abs valve block, the only way to test it is with scanner and/or pin out box and FSM. Unpluged sensor should have set C1221,C1232,and/or C1227. You could unplug connector to abs module and check for corrosion, if not present, reconnect it and maybe code will go way. DISCONNECT BATTERY PRIOR TO CONNECTING OR RECONNECTING MODULES.

Code could be cause brake concern. ABS module is mounted to sub-frame below water pump housing of engine. Local dealer can tell you if recall applies and has not been done, they will need vin or post/pm last 6 digits of it.

Thanks, I did see where the module is in with the pump. I unplugged the module and could see that the wheel sensor harness for the left front had been replaced. One of the pins on the harness wire was not seated fully in the module plug, but I don't know for sure that it didn't pop out when I pulled the plug to check it. I seated the pin correctly and reinstalled the plug to the module and so far no problems. Hopefully that was the problem.
Thanks again, Matt
Thanks again, Matt
