Default struts - Cadillac Allante

For my "89 I took the 88945832 front AC-Delco Struts(503-352) to local Mechanic (good and I trust him) who has called me with what he perceives as a problem. He is saying that the tire (Running new 225/60/16 for the last year w/o any difficulty instead of of 55's) is resting right against a flange? on the new strut. Says it looks like the old strut had said flange bent out of the way. Any thoughts ? thanks!

Default RE: struts

i seen a lot of chatter over the years about the dangerours small clearance,
but this is the 1st time i hear about actual contact. Personally, I be a bit nervous.

Did you get a picture of the fit?

I like to see a pic posted as that usually helps understand the issue a bit easier.
