Default Combo Phase-I / Phase-II Cadillac Allante ?

Can we bring over the Phase-I latches to a Phase-II Allante?

I dont know if the Phase-II hard top cars have the mounting plate for the Phase-I receivers, top latches.

Can one install the Phase-I latch receivers onto a Phase-II car?
They are so simple, two screw attachment at the visor mount area.

If so, everyone could could either use a Phase-I or a Phase-II hard top, EVERYONE ..

Dick you out there?

Default RE: Combo Phase-I / Phase-II Cadillac Allante ?

The screw holesfor the visor mounts do not line up, so the holes would have to be addressed. The edge of the visors on the phase 2's hit the Phase 1 top handles. The Phase 1 front weatherstripsand weatherstrip tracks have to be relieved to clear the striker pockets on the headers. There is interference inseveral places on the header that makes the Phase1 topscreak and groan when installed on a Phase 2 car. But other than that, it can be done.I have had a Phase 1 top on the '91 for a couple years because my wife has been driving it and wants it that way. I used the eyebolts into the corner method. That's less than ideal too, very noisy. I am trying to do something better.
