Default Magnaflow exhaust and K & N intake

Just wondering for those of you who has a custom exhaust and intake, does it really save you some gas mileage? Is it worth it. I was thinking of the Magnaflow exhaust and K & N intake, what do you guys think? Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say it would take over one year to break even on this if gas saving is realized. Now let's be honest, nobody is making these mods to save gas, in fact once you make them you are going to be on it harder than ever and you are actually going to use more gas.

In designing our systems we make them for proven performance. We don't actually test for gas mileage but theoretically it should stay the same or improve. This is almost impossible to tell because as Kat stated the driving conditions may differ after you hear and feel the power gains

my sentiments exactly! i've been modifying vehicles since i can remember and even with the most common bolt on mods that improve airflow (intake, header, cat, exhaust) a mileage improvent can truly be realized. however, with the added go power of a modified car, i find it hard not to puch the gas from time to time to hear that voluminous sound out of the exhaust and get kicked back in my driver's seat. some ecu chips can aid in your quest for improved gas mileage, you'll need a custom tune and some dough though
