Default need help with my 1994 ETC

I have a 1994 cadillac el dorado(ETC) with a northstar engine. I blew the engine last year because i overforced the engine it had 114K. Anyone know's if a 1995 el dorado, seville or deville northstar engine will bolt right on my 1994 el dorado?

welcome to the forum

the issue that you are going to run into will be the electronics...a dealrship would be able to tell you for sure what ECU you would need.

Dear nizmosis,

After years of owning cadillacs, the north star engines are interchangeable between cadillacs no what the year as long as they originally came with the northstar engine. The only issue I see pertains to the computer diagnostics, although the engines are interchangle sometimes the engine specifications regarding system monitoring are different. My recommendation would be to grab a Chiltons book to read up on any diagnostic changes, and if you don't have the capabilities to reset the computer monitoring system then take it to a local mechanic shop and have them do it.

Good Luck,
Tony
