Default My new 92 Eldorado with problems

I just have my 92 Eldorado and it has some problems that some of you may know:

- The 4 lights in the ceiling will not switch off. To prevent the battery from draining, I took out the bulbs
- While driving sometimes the engine stops. This happens while releasing the accelerator or braking and only when the engine is hot.
- When the engine is cold, I get the message battery voltage low. Checking the battery voltage in the information center gives battery voltage 0.0. After some miles, the battery starts charging and the information center gives battery voltage 14.2

Before diving in these problems, I am curious if these are known already.

Any answer appreciated!

I'd say bad grounds or loose connection(s) on the battery issue.

With loose connections on the battery I would not be able to start the engine.
I will take a look ad the grounding of the alternator.

Dome light issue is usually a blown fuse in another circuit causing feed back thru the dome lights, they will stay on till fuse or short is fixed. So test ALL fuses and report back. The Alternator issue can be as simple as the harness that plugs into it being loose. Ck the fat 12 volt wire at the alternator for being secure. Ck the plug in harness for heat related damage.

carnut, thanks for the feedback.

Im still waiting for my 92 Service Manual. Once I receive that book, I will check out the electrical system.
This weekend I will take a look under the hood to take a look at the alternator cable and the fuses.

About the dome lights, the funny thing is that the two lights under the dash (that light when you open the door) work properly, but I understand that this is a different system in the car.

Does anybody know if there is a 92 Electrical troubleshooting guide like I have for my 78 Seville?

To answer my last question: about half of the Service Manual contains electrical troubleshooting info
(I received the 3kg heavy book yesterday by post from the US).

Yesterday I also worked on the ceiling lights. When I put back the bulbs, they worked properly........ Ni idea what caused the problem or what I did to correct it.

was it as simple as moving the dash light dimmer switch to OFF?

@carnut: No, that one I already tried before removing the bulbs

Today I read the codes:
E031 - Shorted MAP Sensor Circuit
E052 - PCM Memory Reset
E085 - Throttle Body Service Required
I033 - Loss of SIR Data
I034 - Loss of Programmer Data
I041 - Battery Volts too Low
I052 - IPC Memory Reset Indicator
R061 - Force Low or Indicator Circuit Failure

Do I have to worry about these codes?

With temperatures just over 0 deg. C now, the heater does not give enough heat to warm the car to 22 deg. C. (fan blows at max.)
I'm thinking to remove the heater core for cleaning.

Clear the codes, drive car then see what codes come back. Low battery voltage may have been the cause.

I have a 1992 eldorado 4.9 motor with error codes E052 ECM Memory Reset Indicator and I052 but the car will start fine then the RPMs will race to 15000 - 2000 and will not kick down can anyone help Please?
The old owner came over and popped the hood and used the engine to race the engine and the idle kicked down but will stall unless I drive the car and give it gas for a little while could my whole problem be the cable sticks for the accelerator. I cleared the codes and I am not getting the e52 or e30 and the check engine light is off but now when i start the car it puutts like it wants to stall but if I drive it it levels out any ideas !!!!!
