Bose upgrade

I have a 96 Eldo with the standard Bose system. The last Eldo I had was the hiigher end system which had loads of base.
Is the a way rather than installing a sub woofer that I can up the base?
I have the base up all the way and fade more on the rear but it's still weak. Can I install the high end Eldo factory amp with this system?
If so is it difficult?
