Having a "code" does not mean the sensor is bad. Could just as easily be a damaged wire harness, or a faulty wheel hub/tone ring.

HOWEVER, faulty sensor pigtails are fairly common--a wire harness issue but it's the wire harness directly connected to the sensor body, and replaced as a unit with the sensor.

K2500 wheel-speed sensor removed from hub. Small Allen-head bolt and 7mm Allen wrench pictured also.

In general, GM wheel speed sensors are held in with a single, small bolt which may or may not also include a shim between the sensor and the hub. IF (big IF) you can access the bolt, you should be able to replace the sensor and the ~1 foot-long wire harness without taking much apart other than perhaps removing the tire/wheel.

Full details including a C1235 diagnostic procedure will be in the Genuine GM service manual set for your vehicle.
