1980 Cadillac Eldorado Engine
I have a customer at my shop that has a 1980 Eldorado with the 368 engine. It needs the engine replaced due to overheating. I'm having a hard time trying to find one specifically for an Eldorado. I've found some for a same year Fleetwood. Will the engine of the Fleetwood fit in the Eldorado? I read somewhere that all I need to do is swap the oil pan and pick up tube from the FWD engine to the RWD engine. Is that correct? I know I would also have to swap the intake, but the customer is thinking of going carbureted and getting rid of the fuel injection as parts are getting hard to find for the fuel injection system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I don't know this from experience. Never messed with a 368. I'd expect the block and heads to be identical. No promises on oil pan and pickup, exhaust manifolds, flexplate and starter, crank hub/damper and accessory drive system.
But everything you need to make it fit should be on the original engine. Swap it over as needed.
If this were me, I'd be looking for a 472/500 instead of the dinky 368; but that's the hot-rodder in me talking.
