I have got an eye on a 2007 DTS with the Performance option. This beauty has 46,640 on the clock. The Carfax includes:

Steering gear replaced on 10/2008, mileage 13,744
Steering wheel rotation sensor replaced 8/2009, mileage 20,356
Wheel bearings/hubs replaced 4/2012, mileage 31,348
Camshaft seals, valve covers replaced 7/2016, mileage 45,672.

Are these normal wear issues or might the car have been abused or, maybe, it is just a lemon?

It is really nice but I cannot afford to take a second mortgage out to maintain it.

It's a nine year old car so stuff car happen. Cadillacs like most cars canbe expensive with no warranty to maintain. It doesn't have many miles so I doubt it's been abused. I'm surprised carfax can bring up factory warranty history. What there isn't excessive.
