Experienced a Surge
Hello everyone! I just bought my first Cadillac, a 2007 DTS. Took it for a spin yesterday (around 240 miles round tripJ) and was noticing a minor surging occurrence between 60-70 mph when the cruise control was engaged. It seemed only to happen when I was driving down a hill. Almost felt like a “hill assist” control was activated. Is this normal with the DTS? Does the DTS even have a “hill assist” control? If this helps, I changed the transmission fluid (Valvoline DEXRON-VI ATF) and oil (Mobil 1 5W-30) before I departed. Any thoughts?

RE: Experienced a Surge
Thanks Jack,
It's an interesting event. Seemsthat the cruise control is disengaging than reengaging. I double checked the fluids and they are all up to the appropriate levels.
Does the engine help control the descent rateat those speeds? If so,what would be causing the surge? And shouldn’t the transmission interpret the engineRPM/speed and the cars velocity to keep the surging from happening altogether?
