Question Another headlamp assembly problem: burned out DTS amber side marker

In the headlight module, my DTS performance model has 2 of the 4 front side marker lights burned out - the ones in the amber strip. What does Cadillac call these bulbs? Are they an LED strip or 4 separate bulbs? I have found no bulb listed on any Cadillac diagram.

This site has done a super job of describing every other headlamp assembly problem but I haven't see n this one.

Both are bulbs Amber strip should be 194 the other 3757NA, I would verify numbers with dealer. Dealer sell bulb individually with many times less the auto parts 2 packs. Unfortunately front bumper or fascia has to be removed to replace them. Dielectric grease can help prevent frequent failures. Check condition of sockets prior to installing bulbs....POA to do over

Thank you, slowroll. I'm happy to hear that the amber strip on my 2008 DTS Performance model uses 4 bulbs that are replaceable. The dealer told me that I would need to purchase the entire headlamp assembly.

I tried to find the part numbers you gave both at GMpartsonline.net and on the AC Delco web site. No luck. I guess that the bulb part number 194 is generic?

The Amber strip is part 3757NA? I'm surprised you say it's replaceable. On my model DTS, the amber strip looks like a part of the headlamp assembly and not a separate piece.

Help is much appreciated.

Amber strip should use 194. Amber lamp above headlamp is 3757NA. Rechecking information wiring diagram shows LED and Service information shows serviceable bulb. I will need verify and repost

Interesting, slowroll that the wiring diagram shows LED and the service information a bulb. If it's an LED strip, is that replaceable? Thanks for checking. - mosey

The wiring diagram you have seems to be correct, slowroll. I've been checking parts suppliers and talked to a service manager at a Cadillac dealer. The side marker lights both on the front and on the rear of my 2008 DTS are LEDs and not bulbs. The part for the LEDs is the entire assembly - headlamp or tail lamp. I've not found any replacement - even an after market one - for the LEDs. So, not only is it a pain to remove the assembly but an expensive repair as well to replace it for the LED marker lights.

Thanks very much for helping to track down the problem.
