Default traction control light

hello, i have a 2001 deville with approximately 73,000 miles on it. for the past few days the traction control light comes on within a minute or two of stratup and stays on. mechanically everything appears to be functioning properly. the check engine or service engine light has not come on. any suggestions? thanks, john

Hey, are you sure that you did not swicth the traction control button off of hit it by accident because I know my CTS has the button in the glove Box. What does it say? If it has the letters TC with a line going threw the middle it means it is turned off.

Thanks for the responses, I have tried the the traction control button, it is on the stalk andwill not function when the light comes on. The light says traction control, no line through it. it used to come on occasionally when there would be limited wheel slip, now it just comes on and stays on. I havn't checked any codes yet, I didn't know any codes would come up without the check engine light coming on. I'm learning!
