Traction Control light, Transmission

The traction control light has come on and is staying on. The car will not shift into high gear. It is a 1997 Cadillac seville SLS. Any suggestions?

Check the onboard diagnostic codes: see http://www.caddyinfo.com/readingcodes.html
That will give you more specific info on what the car thinks is wrong.
