Default Replacement mirror glass for light sensitive side mirrors.

I have a 98 Deville with power, light sensitive, seat memory mirrors and the passenger side has cracks in the glass, which won't allowthe carto pass inspection. I looked up on ebay and a replacement assembly would cost $170 whereas just the replacement glass would be $20. My question is, does the replacement glass have to be a certain typefor it to turn yellow with the light sensor ordoes the mirror assembly take care of all that?

Yes, it is a special mirror; not just a piece of cut glass. Electrochromatic o/s mirrors were an option by themselves,so be sure of your replacement.
