Default Radio removal

Has anybody any experience with removing the standard radio/cd player from the dash of a 2004 Deville??? I need to get to the speaker wires to attach an ear phone jack somewhere into the sound system. Many thanks, Henry

Default RE: Radio removal

I don't have any experience, but here is essentially what the shop manual says:

1. Use a small hooked tool and reach behind the center trim panel near the top of the panel next to the HVAC control and pull out on each side.
2. Pull towards the rear of the vehicle in order to disengage the center trim panel retainers.
3. Remove the center trim panel.
4. Depress and hold the locking tabs located on the 4 corners of the HVAC control assembly. Pull the HVAC control away from the instrument panel.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the HVAC control.
6. Remove the HVAC control assembly from the instrument panel.
7. Push and hold the release tabs on the left and right sides of the radio in order to release the radio from the instrument panel.
8. Partially remove the radio from the instrument panel in order to disconnect the antenna and the electrical connector from the radio.
9. Remove the radio from the instrument panel.

Good luck!
