Question Just want to replace front Head 96 Deville

Hello, Does anyone know if I can replace the front head of a 96 Northstar without taking out the whole engine. I don't want to touch the back head. Also, I am assuming that the deville and deville concours 96 have interchangeable engines and components etc. Is this true. are 95-97 deville engines interchangeable?

I am thinking of using a Hayne's manual to change a head and this info would help me out a bit, I'm on hold for now until I find this stuff out.

Thanks,

Gordon

You've got two engines there , the LD8 and the L37, VIN code Y and 9, The Concours came with the L37 which is rated at more horsepower but less torque. Differences are primarily in the cam shaft. Engine code is 8th digit in VIN.
