i got a 2000 dhs, looking for a little more horsepower while not sacrificing fuel efficiency. im thinking of either a performance chip or maybe that tornado thing. anybody have any suggestions?

 

You can try a chip, many say 15 to 40 HP. I'd also suggest that you check your spark plugs and make sure you have a good set in there, you'd be surprised how a car perks up with new plugs. After that I'd say a well designed free flowing exhaust system, maybe 10 or 15 hp in there. Those open air intakes advertise 6 to 10 HP. Atthe low end there's 30 + ponies. If you really want some jump and have money to spare change you transaxle final drive ration to the one from the DTS. Your's is probably 3.11 and the DTS is 3.71, that alone would lower your 0-60 time by about half a second so you'd be down near 7 seconds for that run. You would notice little effect on gas mileage becaue you have an overdrive.

I can't say about that Tornado thing because I have no experience with it. All I know is that GM markets a series of engines called Vortex that run in the GMC trucks and Escalades and the Vortex intake and heads are based on the same principle of charging the air with a swirling vortex and jamming it into the engine for a more efficient burn = more HP.

 

What do you mean by a "little more hp"? A Florida super chip and a K&N filter might give you an extra 10-15 hp.
