Default door mirrow

My wife knocked the passenger door mirrow and knocked the mirrow out. It fell and cracked. Can just the mirrow be replaced or does the whole assembly need to be replaced? Thanks

Good question...depends on the year and options on your car and your budget. The short answer is yes, here in Canada you can get precut glass at the major auto supply houses specific to your car, I am sure you can in the States as well. Two sided tape and Bob's your uncle.

Now if your car has heated mirrors and you want them to continue to function you need the proper part, if on top of that you have self dimming mirrors you need the part that heats and dims, getting complicated, lets hope it's not a memory setting mirror. These babies are not cheap but you can find the entire assembly on e-Bay or your local salvage yard. Be prepared for a $120 + payout, closer to $450 at the dealer. Add in paint to match, three bolts and a wire connector or two and its done.
