A012 code 94 Deville
I am new here and have a 94 sedan Deville 190,000 miles 4.9L. I just put a new A/C compressor with dryer and new oriface tube. It worked great for 3-4 weeks. Now the A/C works sometimes and sometimes not. I noticed that if it is cooler out side say 85 deg. or less the A/C works great. Now the problem above that temp 85 deg. no A/C. I have a A012 code in diag. I can not find the Low Side Temp sensor. can anyone help. I am a service engineer for a machine tool company and have all the meters to test this sensor. I want to by pass if possible to prove that it may be bad.
Any help would be great.

That should be the sensor on the liquid line (small line) right before the evaporater.
Its the long skinny one that runs along the firewall.
There should be 2 identical sensors near each other.
The one you seek is closest to the pass side and is right past the o-tube.

Does the system have to be taken down to change this sensor then recharged?

Can I jump this out to prove it is bad and is it normally open or closed?

Nutty boy did you just refill with R134 in stead of R12?
Well there are a few models that don’t like this.
Mines is a 91 cadi and from what I read I need to go back to R12
Not sure if your cadi is similar but some pursuer verse temp condition tells the car computer I don’t like you and disables the A/C
At least temporarily.

I have this very same issue and code. Can you confirm that you don't have to drain and refil the system if you change this sensor? Brad

You were right on the money I changed the sensor it fixed my problem. I have not pulled the system down yet to remove the old sensor but pluged up the new one and the A/C is working great and code is reset.
Thanks for all the good advice.
