Default 90 deville stalling

90 sedan deville stalling randomly, it doesn't start to spit or stutter just stalls.
Was thinking fuel pump, but you can here it kick on (still possible that it's weak )
just replaced the fuel filter, going to replace the pcv valve in the morning.
the battery is now needing to be charged, but when charged the car will start right up.
the motor is of course the 4.5L V8 and it has 145,000 miles on it
not sure where to go from here....any help would be appreciated..
Thank You in advance as well

Hey Shadow: Some things to check in regards to your stalling problem. Locate the idle air compensator solenoid, if this is malfunctioning then you will get stalling at idle. I would also check all of your vacuum hoses for cracks or leaks. That is a start anyway, good luck.

The only thing that I can think of is maybe something electrical...all the hoses,connections...etc all look good.
sometimes when trying to start, instead of just firing right up like normal..sometimes it'll just spin..
seems to be getting gas, spark and air..I'm going to pull the distributor cap off and check that out.make sure that looks good.
I've only checked a few of the plugs as they are hard to get,but the ones I did check weren't that bad at all.
I don't know enough about the electrical set up in this car yet to say if there is trouble there..but as of now it's not throwing any error codes.

Was wondering if maybe an oxygen sensor or Crank position sensor might cause this....I've only had the car since spring and have no idea when any real work or maintanence may have been done to it
