Default 2002 Deville DTS keyfob programming

Ok, so I bought the car with only the #2 key and fob. Bought the #1 key and fob, the fob wasn't OEM and was garbage, and would only open the trunk after pressing any button. Key is fine. Anyways, I got a new fob yestefsay that is OEM and should be just fine. My questions are, do you need the #1 key to program it (my partner has the key 2hrs away) and can I program it myself in the car. Thanks!

Two things:
(1) It is next to impossible to program it yourself. There are directions online, but they probably won't work. Try it. If it works, GREAT! If not, go to the dealer.
(2) It does not matter what number you have, you can go ahead and have yours programmed as #1. Any programming makes the first FOB #1. You'll just have the other key programmed #2 when your partner returns.

I have the fully programmed key & fob #2, it's just the #1 fob I have here because it was ordered to my residence. The key will be here Sunday, but if I could get it done before then without Key #1 that would be cool. I spoke to someone at the dealership, and I'm setup to go speak to someone specific who will program it for me. Just, do I need the #1 key for it or not?
