Wheel hop on a 2005 CTSV

RE: Wheel hop on a 2005 CTSV
I have a 01 Vette.. i was told that the CTS-V has the Vette traction control in it. If it does. you should not get wheel hop. It controls all wheels. but wheel hop in hard acceleration is because the shocks are bad. or not damping the hop. Vettes dont do that. A GM techie told me that they took all the system out of Vette, i have not looked but i will go look at the traction control module and see if it the same as in my Vette.

the non-drive wheels should never hop...the wheels hop on a FWD car because of the floating mounts..so when solid mounts are inserted, it fixes the issue,...on a RWD car...it is because of the soft suspension...

wheel hop occurs on hard acceleration in either foward gears or reverse traction control off naturally even in competition mode where everything should be on its weakest help factor if you hit second gear fast the wheels will break loose and the wheels will hop again any help would be appreciated

twm242: My vette didn't have wheel hop in stock form, but after the turbos were added, it hops like heck. I don't know what I could do about it, but I've learned just to accelerate gradually without making the wheels spin or hop...in 2nd gear.

Wheel hop is a pain to deal with. Mikeith said there is a company called BMR; they make a anti-wheel hop kit for your car. Here is their web site BMR Fabrication
