transmission flush or not?
alright put in the new rad thanks to you guys helping... now the old one leaked coolant into the transmission... should i flush and fill the transmission or just drain what is in there and refill it?
thank you
thank you
did u drive it with coolant in the trani?
was the trani acting up?
how many miles?
not enough info ..
at any case, i would drain it and refill it properly plus add a bottle of LUCAS trans fix, if it acts up then, i would repeat the drain/refill plus lucas ...
i dont think a little coolant is any worse on a trani than moisture which can and does build up .. ever heard of a 4x4 dipping its entire drive train in crossing water? we do it all the time, and we dont go and flush afterward.
btw, how did you finally get the transmission lines off?
.

car has 75,000 miles radiator failed and emptied coolant into transmission and emptied the trans fluid ect all over the road (bolt on the passenger side was out when we got to it)... happend at a stop light so i dont think i was driving with it mixing but not sure... transmission was always fine before the radiator failed... never a problem
got the lines off by sanding down the quick release tool a little and got it inbetween the line and bolt and put some muscle into it and pulled apart they went into the new radiator perfectly without a problem

id say about a half mile before this stop light the car felt like it hesitated a few times, then once the light turned green it would not move and i was lucky to be in the right lane put it in N and pushed to the side
