No Brakes - Pedal to the Floor
Hello there,
New to this forum, hoping I can gain some knowledge here!
I am working with a 2004 Cadillac CTS which sat for a long time. I am in the North Country so rust is bad through the undercarriage.
The brake line to the rear wheels was corroded and missing about a foot of 3/16 line. I reconnected the line but still no braking response, car doesn’t stop moving.
Now I am wondering if this is a MC issue or a brake booster issue.
Also thinking about the ABS module and the fact that no fluid has been running through it, to the rear wheels. I’m wondering if this has affected the module’s performance now.
Pedal has a bit more resistance now that I patched the line going to the rear calipers, yet it still hits the floor.
Would anyone be willing to help me troubleshoot this situation. Guy needs his car to get to work and back so he is on me to get this resolved quickly :/ Unfortunately, I don’t know what the main issue is yet so I am not able to give him a window of time for how long this will take.
If anyone has any advice or ideas I would be very grateful for the help.
Thanks,
Tom
