I smell exhaust fumes inside car!
I have a 2003 CTS with 3.2L.
A few months ago I started to notice exhaust fumes inside the car, but only sitting still. Once I get moving, the fumes don't enter. If I put the recycle on, it doesn't let the fumes in either.
So I have a problem only when I'm sitting and idleing with the HVAC drawing outside air, inside the cabin.
I've looked and looked and looked, but I can't find the problem. I don't hear any exhaust leaks. I've made sure that the rubber that seals off the inside of the hood to the cowl area is attached and not cut.
Any Ideas on what it is? Any re-calls or TSB's out there?
Thanks for any help,....it's much appreciated.

Ok,.....I'm not stupid here. Anybody knows that you SHOULDN'T be smelling exhaust inside the car.
That's what I'm trying to figure out!
Has anybody had a similar problem with a CTS? Any TSB on this?
Thanks for your help.

lar414; I just started to get the same smell on my 03 CTS with A/C on normal when stopped.Cannot see any sign of pipes leaking from laying under the car.Did you find the source?? Thanks.
Not yet.... I need to wait for some nicer weather and then I'll get it up in the air and really hunt around. Probably an exhaust manifold to cyl head area, but I really don't know.
Anybody else have this issue?
