Default headlight sensor

i have a 2004 Cadillac CTS. The dash lights have dim'd. even during the day. i have determined that the headlight sensor had determined it's night out and turned on the headlight (even during the sunshine day). is there a sensor that i can change or where should i start? thanks.

most cars have it on top of the dash, at center.
