We have an 08 CTS4 , smelled a burning smell, checked under the hood and the alternator was smoking, installed another one, now as soon as the battery is hooked up the instrument panel flashes on and off. The car starts, and idles, radio display comes up normal, climate controls work,everything works but the instrument panel. We even installed a new battery. Has anyone have a clue? Any help in a direction would be appreciated. Thanks
