Default 2008 CTS will not shift to drive

I can't get my 2008 CTS to shift into Drive. Will shift from park to reverse and to neutral but that's it. The shifter seems to be in the drive cause I can get it to go into drive low and high, but nothing happen. It stay in neutral.

No cable, just a rod from shifter to transmission lever. Looks good no damage noticed. This is a 2008 model with the mx0 tranny.

Lever is hard to move out of park and I can't get it to go into Drive. Indicator show P,R and N and the tranny actually going in to this gear, but not into Drive. When in Neitral the shifter is all the way out.
Seems like it has come out of ajustment.

I've done
this and it moves. What would I be looking for. Do you know if there are some adjustments and or measurements to take?

well u can move it from under car i just trying to figure out is it in the tranny problem
or inside tranny
u can take the rod off and manual move it if it moves it a external problem but if it does not go in then its an internal problem
