Default 1989 Coupe Deville Heater Core

I need to replace my heater core in my 89 Coupe Deville. I was told that you access it from under the glovebox & that a special tool is needed. Could anyone tell me if there is a special tool & what the name of the tool is? I can't afford to take it to a shop esp since I was told its a 3-4hr job!

I was looking for a VSS buffer amplifier which is supposed to be on bottom of heater plenum on a 90 today. Ended up finding out heater core is right behind that climate control module and cover behind module which exposed heater core which I took for a spare cuz it looked as new and was $7. Did not need any special tools, but factory hose clamps on firewall were a bit of a challenge, but got them with pliers. Take plastic cover off top of firewall engine side to access hose clamps. Take pictures and don't break the wires or mechanisms and it is not too bad a job. Easier to see if take glove box assembly out - including glove box door along wit it, to see what you are dealing with.
