1991 Deville Anti-Lock
The Anti-Lock light is illuminated on my dash. I cannot find a repair shop that still has the software to read the code, so I'm wondering if pins can be jumped on the ALDL to force the codes to appear on the AC unit. If I cannot jump pins, how can I retrieve the codes? What tool is necessary? Glad I finally found a Cadillac forum, hope someone can help.
Do a search here for retrieving codes. With on board diagnostics, you dont need a reader or software on a Cadillac. Try a GOOGLE SEARCH for anthony w haukap for code meanings. An anti lock light usually means one of the speed sensor connections is either disconnected or rubbed thru and shorting on a strut.

Unfortunately you can only get flash codes, which can only point you to what circuit is faulty. Data is only available with scanner in regards to ABS. You may still be able to figure out whats wrong if you have a good manual or FSM. There were some concerns with rear wheel speed sensors in the early 90s.
Thanks slowroll. I stand corrected. My expertise ends at 89 on most Cads unfortunatly. Still doing a visual on the speed sensor harness' at the front struts and where they attach to the drive axle spindle would still be a good idea.
