Default carb for 65 429

What is the best replacement carb for a 1965 429?

I raced old Buicks back in the day. 1965 would have carter afb straight bore four barrel.

1966 Buicks went to spread bore quadra-jet Larger secondaries with small primaries.

I would think this was across the board with GM. A 1965 caddy, pending early or late model, may have had either type of carb.

Spread bore quadrajet would give better miles to the gallon and better performance.

Both types or carburetors are fairly easy to rebuild.

Both are also easy to find.

I think you could get a 750 cfm Elderbrook or Carter AFB new reasonably

Nice suggestion about,i have also need too of this and i try number one of your suggested types.Its really very easy to rebuild and nothing could have major effect your car.Its efficiency gets better.
