Unhappy Transmission kick down cable!

Can a kick down cable cause the transmission to lose power. As I drive about 60mph and step on the gas to say pass someone it seems to lose power. 1st,2nd and 3rd seems to shift fine. As I drive say a steady 60 or 70 and hit the gas there's no power. Does anybody have a clue what this might be? I have a 2000 Cadillac Escalade too. Thanks for any advice.

Bill

Plugged fuel filter, or plugged cat converter and/or muffler. To verify if the cable is misadjusted just pull the lever down one gear when you nail it at 70. If it down shifts and has normal power then its a trans issue not a fuel issue.
