My 99 Eldorado with the 4T80E trans has a problem. I'd like to get a lil guidance if I could. I bought the car without test driving it as it needed some work. I went through it and fixed various things. Problem Im having is with the shift solenoid. Its popping the PO758 Shift solenoid B electrical.
I replaced BOTH the solenoids with GM factory solenoids and its still popping the code. Heres the thing though... I can drive the car and shift it into the drive by keeping my code reader hooked up and when the code pops up I clear it and it will then shift into drive. That indicates to me that the trans itself is not bad. But..thats where Im stuck...is the trans wiring bad? Is it a "bad" new solenoid from GM?? Im stumped. Went to my local Pick a Part and got a complete valve body out of a 02 Seville thinking it the same and the valve bodys are different. Stuck with a valve body now...SMH
