Default HT 4100 engine swap

I have an 1982 Sedan Deville De Elegance, with of course the infamous HT 4100. An engine swap is necessary any day now, due to a blown cylinder or head gasket, and smoke pouring out the tail pipe! what i'm asking for is anyone with a confirmed and sucessful engine swap? and the details on wich engine actually will fit and bolt to the trany and will my electrical work. If anyone has any insite it would be greatly appreciated. I have been driving her down to nothing because i cant find a mechanic to touch it with out proper info, pertaining to the swap. thanks!

im in the same boat as you with my 84 th 4100. Im about to start on my 350 swap. from all the research i have done an 84 350 will bolt to the 200 4r trans that is attached to the 4100. my down fall is Im going to loose the cc and heat/air do to shaving the fire wall for my custom show look. the engine mounts look the same but if you use a turbo 350 trans you will have to extend the drive shaft and lose your overdrive.
