Default 95 deville questions

I am new to the caddy scene and have a few questions. I just got a 95 deville with 130,000 miles in great shape. I do need a little help with codes though. I have an intermident check engine light, a constent abs light and traction control disabled. The codes i have are P030H (ISC RPM out of range) , P039H (Torque Coverter Clutch/Viscous Converter Clutch Engagement Problem) and T027C (LF Wheel Speed Sensor Continuity Fault) . I know the H is history and C is current. I am more worried about my two codes in history because they dont sound good. My other question is about the 4.6 n*. I have the 4.9 sidemount in it now and was wondering the pros and cons to putting in a 4.6 and if it was even possible. Anyanswers would be great. Thanks.

History codes are good,as long as they dont come back.Your car has DFI which is unique to Cadillac and requires more attension than other domestic gm cars. E 30 isc code can be set by slow moving isc motor or adjustments.E 39 vcc/tcc -if it set after 45 min or more of driving your are problaly looking at a major trans repair. If your are going to try to do your own repairs invest in factory manuals and use good judgement or you will have take car to someone who know how to work on it,Hope it helps

Good advice, everyone should have an FSM, especially for cars out of warranty, and especially if you are a shadetree mech.

The e 30 isc code came back on after i cleared it yesterday. The e 39 hasnt come back yet but i really havent been driving for long periods. Your advice was helpfull, now my only other question is (for now) yous explained what the e 30 code is but what causes it and how would i fix it. if i could. i know my way around a car alright but never really have done much with transmissions. thank you for your help this far.

It sounds like you might have a ground problem. Get all your electronics checked by someone you trust (not GM service center). If your battery runs out sometimes then it is a ground problem. P codes are usually transmission codes.

E030 ISC - The ISC most likey needs replaced, which is not very hard to do.It is getting everything set up right is the problem. Its best left to some one who know how to do it. DFI is now 13yrs obsolete.I suggest to find a shop where they know how to work on DFI ,meaning Cadillac experence.REQUIRED.If that is not possible get a factory manual and post again.Hope it helps
