I know this is a really old thread, but I was wondering how it all worked out in the end?

I want to buy an after market cd player for mine as well (2000 DTS), but online it seems it hasnt been so simple for people. Any advice before I buy something I cant use? (pro installer wants $165 just to install!)

 

Nice suggestion about this issue,its a home project so some times this type of issues take us insane.I am also mechanic by profession and done my best on these projects.
