Trying to help a friend tighten his loose horn ring, but don't see any hardware to remove it. Horn operates when pushing on the top of the ring, but not on the bottom. How does one remove the horn ring on this vehicle?

 

Strange that you did not get an answer...There are 2 allen screw at the back of the horn ring. You have to lie down on the front seat or floor to see them

 

Thanks Roger, I did in fact do just that and found the allen screws. As it turned out, I didn't need to remove the ring, only tighten the screws as one of them had backed out and made the ring loose. The horn ring now works as it should in all directions.

 

Glad you found it! I have a short story about a '58 horn ring: in the nineties, I was in a junk yard in Florida; there was a '58 Cad with a nice horn ring. I lied down on the seat and could not see the screws because the sun was so strong. Suddenly, a saw an army of big red ants coming on the seat! I went away without the horn ring...
