What was your first car?

My first car was a 69 Continental that I got for $200 as a pile of rust and scrap metal that was sitting in someone's field at 14 years old. (It was the suicide doors. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Still do.)
I spent every bit of my free time until I was sixteen working on the car. 427 crate engine, 5-speed manual tranny conversion, and a paint job that took over a month to finish. She holds a place in my heart that no other car can ever touch.

If you look up "fast" in the dictionary, a picture of a '68 Firebird accompanies the definition. If you want to find a shot of the 400HO in the same book, look up the word "rare". I dragged my father to go look at a car with me at age 16, purposely not telling him what it was: '68 Firebird 350. Even though it was my own money, he refused to let me buy the 'bird. In hindsight, he probably saved my life. Best year for the 1st gen F body...Oh, wait-this isn't a Pontiac forum...

Father had base v8 68 bird 350 2bl my brother totaled it before he was to sell it to me. I bought the 400 when I was 17 without parents knowledge. not the smartest thing. It had a bad habit of getting hit when parked.
