What was your first car?
What was your first car?
Mine was a 1984 Buick Skyhawk wagon |
First car!!!
Mine was a 1956 Buick Special and it only cost me $80.. Ran for a long time too.
1964 Rambler Ambassador, my Dad bought for my sister and I. First car I ever bought was a 1973 Ford Pinto.
'65 Impalla SS 409/PG/4:11 rear gears...followed shortly thereafter by a '66 Hemi Charger....ahhhh...da good old days!
1963 Plymouth Valiant, 3 on the tree and fastest little slant 6 in the area.
The first legally registered, insured and road worthy ( there were other backyard queens ) was a 1956 Chevrolet tu tone green sport sedan h.t.
Gorgeous looking thing. 6 cyl., powerglide, smoked like coal stove. So slow it couldn't fall off a cliff. I got a whole year and 6,000 miles out of it before the toxic police ruled it off the road. |
First car: 1977 Cadillac Coupe Deville (in 1992)
TS |
The first car I owned was a 1940 mercury coupe (wow, how old is this guy),but was about 20 years old when I bought it, I spent more time under it than in it.
Started with a 85 Honda Civic!
An 89 Pontiac 6000LE.....
My first car was a 69 Continental that I got for $200 as a pile of rust and scrap metal that was sitting in someone's field at 14 years old. (It was the suicide doors. I thought they were the coolest thing ever. Still do.)
I spent every bit of my free time until I was sixteen working on the car. 427 crate engine, 5-speed manual tranny conversion, and a paint job that took over a month to finish. She holds a place in my heart that no other car can ever touch. |
It was little blue box (Escort maybe?). My boyfriend went to jail, I asked for his car before he left, he gave it to me. Forced me to learn how to drive stick!
Audi TT
1977 Pontiac Grand Prix. My parents had one when I was in grade school and when I found mine a decade later, I knew I had to have it. 26 years later, it still has a place in my garage.
Fast!
Did this fast car have a make & model, mysterious man from Michigan? :D
68 firebird400HO
If you look up "fast" in the dictionary, a picture of a '68 Firebird accompanies the definition. If you want to find a shot of the 400HO in the same book, look up the word "rare". I dragged my father to go look at a car with me at age 16, purposely not telling him what it was: '68 Firebird 350. Even though it was my own money, he refused to let me buy the 'bird. In hindsight, he probably saved my life. Best year for the 1st gen F body...Oh, wait-this isn't a Pontiac forum...:)
'68 Chevy Impala, hand me down, from Grandma.
Father had base v8 68 bird 350 2bl my brother totaled it before he was to sell it to me. I bought the 400 when I was 17 without parents knowledge. not the smartest thing. It had a bad habit of getting hit when parked.
Perhaps from admirers with depth perception issues? I ended up getting a 400 as well, it just came in a package that weighed about 800 pounds more :D
My 1st car was a....
Oldsmobile F-85 4 door with a very small aluminum V8, automatic on the column, baby moon hubcaps and the color was Coral Red-I think...?
Second Gen Hilux
My first vehicle was a 1974 Toyota Hilux. Fortunately, I was a skinny kid because this day and age, I would not fit in that thing lol!
car
1959 Chevy Impala Con't and I didn't have drivers license at the time......hahahaha

60 Rambler American |
1936 buick
First one was a '59 Studebaker Golden Hawk. Paid $150 for it and it was definitely a "driver's car". Jeez, I wish I still had that one.
Along with the '71 Charger R/T Hemi, the 71 Charger R/T 440 six pack, '67 Plymouth GTX and the '70 Challanger R/T 440 ragtop cars I've had. I have let a fortune worth of cars slip through my fingers over the years. Only if I had known. |
1982 Oldsmobile Custom cruiser station wagon. Fully loaded blue with wood grain.
Mine was datsun 240z and I still remember when I first took a long drive with my dad. It was awesome feeling.
A car's make is the brand of the vehicle, while the model refers to the name of a car product and sometimes a range of products. For example, Toyota is a car make and Camry is a car model. The make, model, model year, body style and trim level all have implications on the cost of a vehicle and its insurance rates :)
On January 29, 1886, Carl Benz applied for a patent for his “vehicle powered by a gas engine.” The patent – number 37435 – may be regarded as the birth certificate of the automobile. In July 1886 the newspapers reported on the first public outing of the three-wheeled Benz Patent Motor Car :) |
My first car was a Mazda 929-1997. Unfortunately I crashed it in high school-totaled $20,000 damage. Lucky to be alive with 3 other passengers. Accident was in 2001.
Thanks all for your posts! All of your first cars were amazing! What is your current car now? Any photos?
