FALL RIVER, MA (WPRI) - One very lucky man in Fall River hit the lottery- twice in one day. Phillip Brunelle’s good fortune started early Sunday morning when he won $1000 by scratching a Massachusetts State Lottery ticket. Things got even better after that.
Brunelle, a 29-year-old professional photographer, bought the ticket around 2 A.M. from a convenience store on East Main Street. He almost forgot that he bought the ticket, and nearly threw it away. After retrieving the ticket from the bottom of his grocery bag, he scratched a $1000 winner.
He went back to the store to report that he was winner, and decided to buy a $1,000,000 Money Mania scratch ticket. He scratched the $20 ticket and he won again. This time it was $1 million.
With his winnings, Brunelle plans on helping his 49-year-old mother who has cerebral palsy. He does not plan on quitting his job as a photographer, and may even open a studio…or two.

Two brothers are set to inherit over $6.6 billion dollars from the fortune of a grandmother they didn’t know about.
Along with a sister in the U.S., the brothers will be splitting the massive fortune due to the laws in Germany that dictate that any living relatives are automatically awarded the estate of a passed blood member.
The two brothers and their sister had cut ties with their mother, who was a “difficult person” - She had abandoned them, and they had never sought her out.
The sister moved to America, and Zsolt and Geza Peladi remained behind and lived in a cave just outside Budapest. They sold scrap metal and junk found in the streets to buy food.
Charity workers in Hungary were contacted by lawyers handling the estate of the brothers' maternal grandmother who died recently in Baden-Wurttenberg, Germany. Under German law direct descendents are automatically entitled to a share of any estate - that would pass from the boy's dead mother to them.
Geza added: "If this all works out it will certainly make up for the life we have had until now - all we really had was each other - no women would look at us living in a cave. But with money maybe we can find a partner - and finally have a normal life. We don't know yet if she even told our grandmother about us - I understand it was only while they were carrying out genealogical research that lawyers found we existed."
