Maybe someone can help me out. This has been bugging me. I own a CTS and everytime I meet my friends somewhere, they always make a big deal about me owning a cadillac. Is owning one what big of a deal? I mean its just a car. I mean its a great car but why all the excitement?

i get told the same thing by friends about my seville and how cadys are old ppl cars. when im at the gas station though i get told wow thats a nice car i didnt think cadillac made cars that looked like a young ppl car. So i think i agree with stealth when friends give you a hard time its jealousy. You should let them drive it and i bet they will trade their car in for one too. thats how i fell in love with cadys was just test driving one.

Also, watch their eyes pop out when the Cadi off the stop light leaves their custom "tuner" in the dust without even smoking the wheels !

MGRACE, you must be a younger person and not too versed in the car market, no offense. The Cadillac name has always stood for "The best" and while not always the most expensive, it was right up there, as it should be. And now with the advent of the CTV and a bit lower price range, it is open to all, still with the Caddy luxury, abiet, a more sporty type ride. Unlike my father's '57 4 door hardtop, my '04 CTV looks more like a sports car with a less spongy ride to match the gusto under the hood. Every where you go, you will get the same response, "wow, you drive a Caddy?", get used to it and enjoy it.

i almost forgot one of the funniest things that happened to me a few months back. I had just started a new job at the time. Well appearently this guy who is a supervisor saw what i drove. He came up to me later in the day and said "You must have worked some where real nice before your stated here." I was confused by what he said and asked why he says that. his reply was "Well thats a real nice car you have and you probly wouldnt have something that nice if you worked at this place." I laughed inside and said to him i just happen to get a good deal on it at the time.

So like MCGRACE it just something you have to get used to when owning a cadillac. ive had older people that were driving cady's look at me when filling up and asked if it was my Dads car since Im 23yrs old and look 18. I dont get offened at all, just smile and say yea he let me take it out today to get it all washed up and filled up for him.

BACK SOME TIME AGO, WITH MY UNCLE WARD, I MADE COMMENT HOW NICE THE CAR IS. HIS RESPONSE, "ITS A CADILLAC, THEY MUST HAVE MONEY" HOW FAR FROM THE TRUTH IS THAT NOW-A DAYS?? LOL
