Default The Hotline

."The Hotline is an unusual journalistic venture, founded in 1987 by two political operatives, one Republican, Doug Bailey, and one Democrat, Roger Craver. It describes itself, Ambinder said, as “bipartisan” – rather than neutral, objective or nonpartisan."

“We don't believe in the fiction that any group of people can be totally nonpartisan and objective,” he said, adding that The Hotline hires staffers from political backgrounds of both parties.

That traditional relationship may have given the site a comfort moving more rapidly into Internet partnerships than other traditional outlets covering the presidential campaign. Some of Hotline’s partners are journalists; others have partisan leanings but don't work in politics; while others, like Florida lawyer Justin Sayfie, work in politics but aren't currently associated with a presidential campaign, Ambinder said.

On Jan. 22, The Hotline announced its affiliation with The Daily Shot, which compiles top headlines from around the state and also hosts an irreverent blog, “The Chaser,” which comments on and mocks the presidential campaigns from a generally Republican angle.

“Just when you thought the country had a brother we could all vote for; apparently brother Obama is not black?” the site wondered on Feb.13. “Before you call Brother Jesse down on The Shot, we have proof to offer our readers. And yes, we too got all dizzy and confused by the proposition. After all, we have a black friend. And before you call out the PC dogs on us; we checked the local chapter of People Who Can and Cannot Make Fun of Black People for President … they have informed us that as long us we make fun of Obama NOT being black, we are in the clear.”

100% bipartisan political bumper sticker. The hottest selling bumper sticker comes from New York state .

"RUN HILLARY RUN"

Democrats put it on the rear bumper.
Republicans put it on the front bumper.
