Default Hey all,

Hey i got a 88 seville sts v8 that was given to me by my father whom was given to him by our neighbor. I love the car specially since i was driving a 98 hyundia accent hatchback haha. well we put a new tranny in her since the 3rd gear was pretty shot. now i have this check engine light that comes on and when i use an old obd reader that my dad has from the early 90's it reads as a vcc failure. anyone have any ideas?

the VCC failure im not familure with but the TCC failure is possible which means torque converter isnt locking up.

its weird because at times it will go bout 40 miles (without turning off the ing) and the light will stay off but then at times i wont even get 6 miles before the light clicks on. once the ing is turned off the light resets and sometimes i can go the entire dive with it off and sometimes not. also i forgot to mention there is a second code that says ecm mem reset. that one has showed up since day one of the tranny swap, but the vcc has only showed up for the last few days and it as well will have the same time frame for the light coming on. so its not a consistant time/millage frame.

vcc is the "VISCOUS CONVERTER CLUTCH"

Check around the tranny plug make sure wires r good
and plugged in also check the contacts make sure they r secure could have a problem with ground wire
