53 Cadillac w/ 331 ci V8 engine oil capacity?

Default 53 Cadillac w/ 331 ci V8 engine oil capacity?
What is the capacity for the 331 V8? I read 5 qts online and my dipstick still is reading about a quart low after 5 quarts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Vintage V8s: Exploring 100 Years of Cadillac Engines - Engine Builder Magazine

states 6 with filter. I would add until full or 1 more quart, run engine then check oil level. If foamy it's overfilled and you will need to mark dipstick for correct level.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up putting 6 in it and it's still at the add line. Not sure how much more I want to add but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks again
